Riding Lessons: The camp will include private and semi-private lessons on our lesson horses for first time riders to advanced beginner
riders only. Students will do fun activities to become confident on horseback, improve balance, and learn body control to create an independent seat and quiet hands. Campers will learn how to effectively communicate with the horse using the riding aids and positive reinforcement. We will break horseback riding down into achievable parts to meet the learner at their ability level.
Pony Rides: Camp participants 7 years old and under will ride with an assistant leading the pony and will learn leadline equitation.
Carriage Driving: Miniature horse driving basics: how to safely get in and out of the cart, how to harness the horse, how to use driving aids to effectively communicate with the horse. Driving will be done in small groups, two campers per horse.
Horsemanship: The camp provides a safe environment to learn horse handling skills through grooming techniques and stable keeping.
Other Activities: Art and crafts, learning equine anatomy and games.
