"I didn't know what to expect during my first time volunteering but I ended up really enjoying being around all the animals. They all had such unique personalities and it made interacting with them all the more interesting. Skip, the goat, was easily my favorite because he loved being pet and always came to greet me. I also had a blast walking the horses and picking blackberries for pie. Peacefully sitting on the field surrounded by the farm animals next to the pond and listening to music became one of my best memories from being on the farm."      — volunteer Lukas

"I didn’t anticipate how much fun volunteering at the sanctuary would be. It was a lot of hard work and early mornings, but ultimately super rewarding! I was lucky enough to meet Toby and Candy when they were brand new to the farm and I got to learn the ropes right along with them. Geoffrey never failed to amuse my friend and I throughout the morning routine with his unsubtle attempts at sneaking more treats. Walking the horses somehow never felt like a chore around the large property and abundant flora. It was exciting to watch the newcomers adjust to the farm in just the week’s time that I had visited. I definitely plan on making the trip again to take in the new barn and greet Skip, the friendly goat who always sought pets."      — volunteer Mia
